A 13-Year-Old Girl Was Gang Raped And Two Years After She Did The Unexpected

Bullying always leaves a scar on the victim. It can sometimes paralyze a person that it does not only affect school life but the person’s whole identity. It leaves a scar so deep that sometimes the victim carries it until adulthood.

No loving parent would ever want their child to be a victim of bullying. But we can’t always control our child’s life. Sadly, this story got out of hand. Linda and Cassidy Trevan suffered from something that no one should ever have to go through.

10. The Victim

Cassidy Trevan was your typical 13-year-old. She was a good student and wasn’t a trouble maker. But she was targeted by bullies in her school. The bullying was unprovoked and brutal. In fact, it came in every possible way. Phone calls, social media, and she was even punched in the face several times, for no reason. It was obviously pure jealousy.

9. It Never Stopped

Because the bullying was so bad Cassidy missed the fourth term in school. She didn’t want to go to school every day and face any more of it. It was taking a toll on her. When she finally returned she went back two days a week. The girls that were bullying previously apologized to her. But it wasn’t the end. The situation got worse.

8. It Was All A Lie

The bullies invited Cassidy to a festival to make everything up to her. However, that was a lie to get her alone. Trusting them was the worst mistake. On February 15th, 2014, Cassidy went to the home of one of the girls. As soon as she went into the house she was attacked, beaten and raped.

7. They Tricked Her

Her mother, Linda Trevan, shared, “They were older boys that Cass did not know. The two girls sat and waited. Two boys shared her and even timed them. Another boy was holding the door while the other two were raping her.”

Linda and Cassidy met with the police but Cassidy wouldn’t give an official statement. She was in shock and afraid. Because of this, they could not make any charges stick.

6. Moving Away Wasn’t The End

The bullies were heartless because the bullying continued even after the attack and there was no end in sight. So Linda finally packed up and move away with Cassidy. Linda told the local news what her daughter went through after the attack. Cassidy suffered “nightmares, insomnia, separation anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD and subsequent worsening mental illness.” It was heartbreaking for a mother to see her child suffer.

5. It Was Too Much To Take

She eventually couldn’t take the emotional suffering anymore and committed suicide. Cassidy Trevan was only 15-years-old at the time she took her life. After the attack, she suffered emotionally and mentally for two years. Linda felt helpless seeing her daughter being tortured by her past.

4. Grieving Mother

The grieving mother poured out her heart and wrote an open letter. She obviously was devastated and warned the readers that bullying must be taken seriously.

3. Gone Forever

Linda hopes that her letter helps others that are facing the same situation. She also hopes that it will lead to someone stepping up and doing something about the boys that got away with the attack. Only a parent that has lost a child truly knows what Linda is going through. It’s something that every parent doesn’t want to go through.

2. Outpouring Support

Linda’s letter also got responses from all over the world. She was overwhelmed at the global response. Linda said, “I wish she could have seen this beautiful caring supportive side of humanity instead of experiencing all the abuse that was inflicted upon her for no reason other than jealousy.” Linda knows that this is something that happens all the time. She wants her letter to help those that need it.

1. Cassidy’s Final Letter

Despite what she went through, she didn’t keep any anger. Instead, she warned others about what happened to her. She didn’t want another person to experience the same torment she went through.

Her mother found the letter on her laptop and decided to share it to help others. The letter wasn’t attention seeking at all. It was genuinely and sincerely written to help, warn and encourage others.

Bullying will never bring anybody any good. Even to the bullies. It’s sad that Cassidy had to take her life to end her suffering. Hopefully, a scenario like this never have to happen again and bullying will be taken more seriously before it destroys another person’s life.
