There are millions of people all over the world that suffer from addictions. While a large portion of them suffer from common addictions such as alcohol, drugs, and sex, this simply doesn’t cover all the bases. There are some crazy and wild addictions that some people suffer from, ones that you simply would not believe. Things that most of us would consider insane or harmful to do, some people are actually addicted to doing. And the show “My Strange Addiction” has introduced millions to some of these strange addictions. Here are 15 of the strangest addictions on the planet, many of which you won’t believe. In fact, number 10 might just be the weirdest addiction of them all.
#15 Addicted to Bee Stings
While bee stings are something most of us like to avoid like the plague, not Margaret. Margaret first began stinging herself with bees as a way to deal with the pain she suffered from arthritis, but eventually, she became addicted to the sensation. She now lets bees sting her between 15-20 times a day.
#14 Addicted to Eating Bricks
Something as hard as bricks often makes our teeth hurt if we just think about eating it. But for Patrice, she actually eats them. She has been addicted to eating them for 12 years and always carries a screwdriver with her to carve off some brick from walls she walks by. Of course, this is dangerous for her body, but she has no plans to stop.
#13 Addicted to the Head of her Old Doll
This is an amazingly strange one. A woman named Lacey is addicted to the head of her old doll. She has been carrying around the head of her old doll for over 20 years straight now. She loves smelling the dolls head, and even gets it involved during intimate times with her boyfriend, which can cause some big issues.
#12 Eating Facial Mask
While most people put a facial mask on their face to improve their skin, a woman named Natasha is addicted to eating clay facial mask. She eats about two cups of it every day and claims it is the best taste in the world. She even goes as far as using it as dip for her chips from time to time.
#11 Addicted to Growing Hair
While a lot of people like to grow their hair out and keep it long, a woman named Asha takes this to a whole other level. Her hair is currently 21 feet long and she hasn’t cut it in 25 years and it takes 24 bottles of shampoo a day to keep clean. This massive amount of hair could cause her major neck issues over time.
#10 Eating Mattresses
Since she was around five years old, Jennifer began to eat mattresses and other spongy materials. She has consumed eight entire mattresses in her life and she often leaves entire pieces of mattress behind her in the toilet. Thankfully, she has plans to stop and is already cutting down her intake.
#9 Addicted to Being Twins
While twins are often fairly similar to one another, Amy and Becky Glass take it even further. They are obsessed with each other and always look alike. They have never had a romantic relationship with anyone, and always match their clothing (even down to the underwear). They even sleep in the same room.
#8 Addicted to Snorting Baby Powder
While some people are addicted to snorting another white substance, Jaye is obsessed with snorting and smelling baby powder. She has been addicted to sniffing it for 16 years and claims she has inhaled about half a ton of the stuff in her life. As you could imagine, this stuff is pretty bad for your body.
#7 Addicted to Eating Cat Fur
Lisa began just by licking her cat to clean them, but as time went on, she began to actually eat and consume the fur. Since then, she has become addicted to the stuff and likens it to cotton candy. She’ll settle for eating it off the couch but she says it is better right off the cat.
#6 Addicted to Getting Breast Implants
Getting breast implants is a fairly common thing, but getting them more than once is not. Lacey Wildd has spent a quarter of a million dollars on getting size MMM breasts. She had to actually get surgery to get pig skin in her abdomen to improve the weight balance and strength.
#5 Addicted to Drinking Air Freshener
Air freshener is a great thing to keep around the house and improve the scent of any room you’re in. But for some reason, Evelyn likes to drink it. While most of us gag even if a little gets in our mouth, she actually drinks about 20 whole cans of the stuff every single week, which is definitely doing damage to her insides.
#4 Addicted to Chewing Dirty Diapers
This is just horrific. For some reason, Keyshia is addicted to chewing on and smelling pee-soaked diapers. She claims, the more urine, the better. She gets the diapers from anyone who will give them to her, and she will even go look in the trash. She keeps one of two in her purse at all times.
#3 Addicted to Eating Her Husband’s Ashes
When Casie’s husband Shawn passed away, she had him cremated. She would carry the urn around everywhere, and one day, she got some ashes on her hand. And instead of blowing it away, she decided to lick her fingers. Since then, she has become addicted to eating her husband’s ashes. Not only is that strange but there has to be some health issues with that!
#2 In a Relationship With a Carnival Ride
While Linda is attracted to inanimate objects, she fell in love as soon as she saw the Skydiver. The Skydiver is a carnival ride that Linda calls Bruce and is now “married” to it. However, this isn’t her first relationship with an inanimate object as she once had a relationship with a plane and even a locomotive.
#1 Addicted to Being a Baby
This one is actually more common than most on this list, but it is still very strange. Riley is simply addicted to being an adult baby and has a nursery, complete with everything a baby needs. She also really commits to the role as she not only wearing diapers but also wets them.
So as you can see, a ton of things that most of us would consider harmful, dangerous and simply insane to do, is actually something that people are addicted to doing and do every day. While most of these on this list are quite uncommon, they do in fact exist. And this list of 15 is only a sampling of some of the wild addictions that are out there. But when you think about it, in a world with around 7 billion people, there are bound to be some people who do things that no one (or few other people) do.
